Bush Would Shift Funds in Agriculture

President Bush's budget for the main Agriculture Department division that supports university research would drop to $1.04-billion, 13.5 percent less than in 2006.

Most of that drop represents Mr. Bush's suggestion to delete all earmarks for the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, for a savings of $195-million.
