Bush Spending Plan Would Complete 5-Year Doubling of NIH Budget
President Bush will propose increasing spending on the National Institutes of Health by nearly 16 percent in the 2003 fiscal year, completing a push to double the agency's budget over five years, an administration official said last month. Most of the increase would go to research related to bioterrorism and cancer.
