Bush Seeks Time Limit on Pell Grants

Community colleges say proposal would harm nontraditional students

President Bush has proposed putting a time limit on how long students may use Pell Grants, in order to free up money for a new program that would give low-income students $5,000 grants to study mathematics or science in college.
