Bush Raked in Cash From His Appointees to Texas University Boards
Many of Gov. George W. Bush's appointees to Texas' public-university governing boards contributed heavily to his two gubernatorial campaigns, according to a report released last week by Texans for Public Justice, a campaign-finance-reform group.
A separate review of federal election data conducted by The Chronicle showed that many of the appointees also have helped finance the Republican governor's campaign for president.
