Bush Proposes New Programs in Climate Science
President Bush last week announced several new programs to study greenhouse gases and climate change, and vowed to fully finance climate-change science over the next five years. The announcement followed this month's release of a National Academy of Sciences report, commissioned by the Bush administration, that examined current climate-change science in terms of global warming during the past century.
