Bush Administration May Revise Rules on Privacy of Medical Records
The Bush administration last month proposed changes to regulations designed to protect the privacy of medical records, a move welcomed by university lobbyists. Many research institutions had complained that the current rules, issued during President Bill Clinton's final days in office, imposed obstacles for scientists performing important biomedical studies. But the proposed changes upset some advocates, who fear the planned revisions will make it harder for people to keep their health
