Budget Pact Includes Big Boost for NIH and Sets Maximum Pell Grant at $3,125
The White House and the Republican Congressional leadership agreed last week on remaining spending issues for fiscal 1999, clearing the way for a vote on a huge spending bill that is expected to increase the budget of the National Institutes of Health by as much as $2-billion and to raise the maximum Pell Grant by $125.
