British Scholars Seek to Overturn Faculty Union's Boycott of Israeli Universities
A controversial boycott by British academics of two uni- versities in Israel may be overturned before it has a chance to take effect.
Last month the Association of University Teachers, Britain's largest trade union for faculty members, voted at its annual council meeting to boycott the University of Haifa and Bar-Ilan University. Motions accusing the two Israeli institutions of undermining academic freedom and Palestinian rights were passed by a vote of about 200 members of the faculty
