British Project Will Encourage Private Giving to Universities
The British government has announced a new three-year project to encourage private philanthropy at English universities.
The project will provide up to a total of $13.2-million in matching grants to 27 institutions, out of 78 that applied, to help them improve their fund-raising ability.
Individual donations have not historically played a significant role in the financing of British higher education, yet government officials and university representatives have long recognized
