British Professors Stage Walkout Over Wages

Academics in Britain have made good on their threat to strike for higher wages.

Faculty members at institutions across the country staged a nationwide walkout last week, the first in what the union representing the academics says will be a series of job actions. The one-day protest brought "major disruption" to universities, said officials of the Association of University Teachers.
