British Faculty Union Opposes Plan for Monitoring Extremists

Britain's faculty union has rejected the government's effort to more closely monitor extremism on university campuses.

Delegates to the annual meeting of the new University and College Union voted unanimously this month in favor of a motion calling on members to "resist attempts by government to engage colleges and universities in activities which amount to increased surveillance of Muslim or other minority students and to the use of members of staff for such witch hunts."
