Britain Dismantles a Virtual University After It Failed to Attract Enough Students
British officials are dismantling a much-ballyhooed virtual university after it failed to attract enough students.
The virtual university, called UK eUniversities Worldwide, or UKeU, was established in 2001 as a primarily government-financed organization to develop online courses by working with professors at established British universities.
The institution also developed software for delivering online courses and provided technical support for online students.
