Brain Games
Beware of 8- and 9-year-old science-fair judges: They have a lot to say. Last month 142 of them, armed with clipboards, took a field trip from their schools in West Philadelphia to the University of Pennsylvania to evaluate neuroscience exhibits that Penn students had prepared for them. The children awarded prizes to the activities that taught them the most -- and to those that let them eat snacks or poke brains.
