Bound for Asia
A small nonprofit group has supplied more than half the English-language books in China's academic librariesBoxes of books are waiting on the floor of a cold, drafty warehouse at Pier 23, wedged among several dozen containers of blanched peanuts that have just arrived from China. The pier serves as an intermediary point for the books -- once there is enough to fill a container, they'll be on their way across the Pacific.
