Both House Candidates in NIH's District Win Backing of Biomedical Researchers
Advocates for biomedical research wish all Congressional races looked like the contest in the Maryland district that includes the National Institutes of Health.
The Republican incumbent, Constance A. Morella, is on the House Science Committee and strongly supports more money for basic research. Her Democratic challenger, Terry Lierman, was president of Capitol Associates, a lobbying organization that focuses on health issues, until taking a leave last November
