Boston U.'s Ambitious Plan Will Add 150 to Faculty
Boston University last week revealed an ambitious 10-year, $1.8-billion effort to raise the institution's academic profile by hiring 150 new full-time faculty members and substantially increasing faculty salaries.
The university also plans to spend $25-million a year on salary increases in a bid to draw more prominent researchers to BU and make it more competitive with peer institutions. The announcement, by the university's president, Robert A. Brown, seems likely to usher in a period
