Far above the ground, from the height of a B-17 bomber, Eugene Rabinowitz took photographs of Italy during and after World War II. He didn't talk much about the experience after he returned, nor after he Americanized his name. But his son, Bruce Robbins, was fascinated by the pictures, stored away in an old ammunition box along with a pair of bayonets.
