The following institutions had their bond ratings upgraded or downgraded during December 2005. Ratings, which reflect the relative financial strength of institutions, help determine their cost of borrowing.

  • Brooklyn Law School, by Standard & Poor's, from BBB to BBB+. Applies to $89-million in outstanding bonds. Reasons cited include a fall 2005 acceptance rate of 28 percent at the New York
