Bologna Conference Highlights Progress and Limits of Europe's New Degree Cycles
Education ministers from 46 European countries met in London in May to usher in the final phase of the decade-long Bologna Process, which seeks to synchronize their countries' university-degree systems by 2010. The ultimate goal of the effort is to create a European Higher Education Area, in which students and faculty members are able to move about freely from institution to institution across countries.
