Bob Jones U. Shifts Its Policies on Interracial Dating by Students
The president of Bob Jones University said this month that he would end the Christian college's ban on interracial dating.
But in a subsequent speech last week in the university's chapel, Bob Jones III told students they had to have written permission from their parents if they wished to date a member of another race.
"We serve parents from diverse cultures and must respect their wishes," university officials said in a prepared statement.
