Board Rejects Proposal to Create Public Law School in Massachusetts
The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education last week rejected a controversial proposal for the University of Massachusetts system to acquire the Southern New England School of Law and establish a public law school in the state.
The 8-to-3 vote capped a battle over whether opening a public law school in Massachusetts was necessary and whether Southern New England, a private institution that has failed to meet the accreditation standards of the American Bar Association and has struggled
