The governing board of Highline Community College, in Washington State, has terminated the contract of Priscilla J. Bell, the college’s president since 2000. In a written statement, Elizabeth Chen, chairwoman of Highline’s Board of Trustees, cited “philosophical differences” as the reason for Ms. Bell’s ouster, adding that “this was a very difficult decision for the board.” Highline, which is located near Seattle, has an enrollment of about 4,800.
