Black and Hispanic Doctoral Recipients Were More Likely to Carry Large Debts in 2009
In several disciplines, members of groups underrepresented in higher education—like blacks and Hispanics—were more likely to incur large student-loan debts (totaling more than $30,000) for graduate study than were white and Asian students.
