Black Student Sent Hate Mail at Trinity College, Police Say
The police say that a black student at Trinity College has confessed to sending racially charged hate letters to minority students at the Deerfield, Ill., institution -- mailings that sent the campus into turmoil and led to the temporary evacuation of the letters' apparent targets.
The student, Alicia Hardin, 19, said she had perpetrated the hoax because she wanted to transfer away from Trinity and hoped to convince her parents that the campus was unsafe, said Lt. Ronald D. Price,
