Black Student Breaks Color Barrier in U. of Alabama's Fraternity System
For the first time, a black student has joined one of the previously all-white fraternities at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.
The student, Calvin Johnson, has joined Lambda Sigma Phi, a Christian fraternity. The year-old fraternity does not belong to the university's Interfraternity Council, but may join next year.
