Bishops Consider New Guidelines on Catholic Colleges' Fidelity to Church Teachings

Roman Catholic colleges and universities would be asked to appoint "faithful" Catholics as professors and trustees, and those who teach theology would take an "oath of fidelity" to the church, under a set of proposed guidelines debated by American bishops at a national conference last week.
