Bioethics Panel Proposes New Rules to Protect Mentally Ill Research Subjects
A Presidential advisory commission last week recommended greater protections for people with mental disorders who serve as subjects in medical research.
If the government adopts the new rules, they would be the first in the United States specifically designed to insure that the rights and welfare of research subjects with mental disorders were protected.
