Bill and Melinda Gates Give $5-Billion to Their Foundation, Doubling Its Assets
The chairman of Microsoft, Bill Gates, and his wife, Melinda, last week gave company stock valued at $5-billion to the William H. Gates Foundation.
If the foundation continues its recent practice of using its assets to fight disease throughout the world, much of the money could find its way to institutions of higher education.
