Bill to Extend Education Tax Breaks Advances in Senate
Extensions of two expiring tax benefits important to colleges were included in the latest tax package from the Senate Finance Committee, which approved the legislation unanimously last week.
The fate of tax provisions in the $8.5-billion bill depends largely on the outcome of continuing negotiations between Congressional Republicans and the White House over the federal budget.
