Bill Enforces Equity Among Pell Grants
Students attending the lowest-cost community colleges may soon be eligible for the maximum Pell Grant, under legislation passed last week by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bill, HR 990, known as the "Pell Grant Equity Act," would repeal for a year a federal rule that has allowed students who attend costlier colleges to receive larger Pell Grants than those attending less-expensive institutions.
