Bill Aimed at Increasing Financial Aid for Online Students Stalls in Congress
A bill that would clear the way for more distance-education students to receive federal financial aid appears to have little chance of passing the Senate this session.
The bill, H.R. 1992, would ease a requirement that students register for at least 12 hours of course work a week to qualify for full federal financial aid.
The legislation would let institutions bypass this regulation, known as the 12-hour rule.
