Big Increase in High-School Graduates Seen
The size of the nation's high-school graduating class will increase by one-third over the next 15 years, says a report to be released this week. By 2008 the number of graduates is projected to reach a peak of 3.3 million.
That growth, coupled with the budget woes that many states are facing, may cause problems for higher education, said Robin Etter Zuniga, the author of "High School Graduates: Projections by State, 1992 to 2009."
