Berkeley Professors Seek Voice in Research-Institute Deal With Energy Company
Faculty members at the University of California at Berkeley are pressing for more say over the contract terms of a planned $500-million research institute on biofuels to be financed by the energy giant BP. They also want continued faculty oversight of the venture during its expected 10-year life span.
