Basketball Scandal Claims President
The Board of Trustees at Barton County Community College has fired its president, Veldon L. Law, because of a scandal during his administration that led to the federal indictment of three former basketball coaches at the Kansas institution.
The board voted, 5 to 1, in July to terminate Mr. Law's contract immediately, saying he had allowed illegal actions to take place on his watch.
