Barnes Collection Seeks to Cut Lincoln U.'s Role
Lincoln University is challenging a reorganization plan filed in September in a Pennsylvania court by the Barnes Foundation that would weaken the university's control over the near-bankrupt institution, which is steward of one of the world's great private art collections.
The proposal would triple the number of trustees who serve on the Barnes board to 15, without increasing the number of trustees nominated by Lincoln. At present, the university nominates four of the Barnes's five
