Badges Less Likely for Foreign Researchers

The Defense Department is backing away from a controversial plan to require foreign researchers to wear badges when working with sensitive technology.

James M. Short, director of defense-laboratory management for the Pentagon, said in September that the department would look for less "prescriptive" ways to resolve security concerns raised by an inspector general's recent audit of military contractors.
