Background Checks Needed, Expert Says
Colleges should conduct thorough background checks of all new employees, including faculty members, as well as of some professional-school students, an expert on risk management in higher education has recommended.
Although educational institutions once dismissed such an idea, many have developed or are in the process of developing background-check procedures for new employees, said Brian G. Lapidus, director of strategic products and partnerships at Kroll Background America
