Back Stem-Cell Studies, Nobelists Urge Bush
Eighty Nobel laureates signed a letter sent to President Bush last week urging him to reconsider his opposition to embryonic stem-cell research and allow federal financing of the promising field.
The president has said that he doesn't think the government should finance studies of stem cells derived from human embryos. In January, Mr. Bush added that the government shouldn't support research of tissue from aborted fetuses.
