Average Scores on the SAT and the ACT Hold Steady
The average scores on both the verbal and the mathematics sections of the SAT remained almost unchanged from last year, the College Board announced last week. The score on the verbal section rose by 1 point, to 506 out of a possible 800, and on the math section it held steady at last year's 30-year high of 514.
The average ACT score remained stable for the fifth consecutive year, at 21 of a possible 36, according to ACT Inc.
