Australian University Plans Overhaul
One of Australia's top research universities has announced that it plans to reconstitute itself along the academic lines of an American-style institution like the University of California at Berkeley.
Under the plan, announced last month, the University of Melbourne would shift its focus to graduate and professional schools, slash its undergraduate rolls, and, perhaps most significant for Australian higher education, increase the proportion of its students who pay full fees well beyond
