Australian U. Officials Cited for Corruption

Two senior officials formerly with Australia's University of Newcastle engaged in corrupt conduct in handling a major plagiarism case, a government commission has ruled.

The case involved 15 business students at an offshore campus in Malaysia. In its report, the commission vindicated Ian Firns, the part-time lecturer who first brought the matter to the attention of university officials, who had initially attempted to cover up the misconduct.
