A new audit has cast fresh doubt on money management at Blue Ridge Community College, according to today’s Asheville Citizen-Times. The state audit found that the college, in Flat Rock, N.C., had miscalculated some of its assets, improperly spent money from its endowment, and lost money on its print shop and baseball team. The findings followed two other audits that also have cited financial problems at the college. A January audit criticized the college for paying members of its baseball team for work they did not perform (The Chronicle, June 26).
