Episode 41: What's Ahead for Obama's Agenda

President Obama has plenty of higher-education policy goals for 2010: He hopes to eliminate bank-based student lending, enact a net freeze in nondefense discretionary spending, and increase the number of students who graduate from college. But with most members of Congress facing re-election this fall, how much support will he receive? Sara Hebel and Jeffrey J. Selingo take stock.

Kelly Field, The Chronicle's chief Washington reporter, and Sara Hebel, our politics editor, spend a minute (or so) each week discussing the key higher-education debates and behind-the-scenes maneuvering taking place in the nation's capital. Other Chronicle reporters and special guests will be filling in for Kelly Field while she is on family leave. Look for new episodes every Tuesday.
