Auburn Trustees Have Usurped Control of Athletics, Former President Says

A committee of Auburn University trustees has essentially run the university's athletics department for years, William V. Muse, Auburn's former president, told a faculty panel in March. The trustees' committee, led by Robert E. Lowder, has bypassed presidents and ignored normal channels of authority, said Mr. Muse, who stepped down in February.
