Auburn Alters Policy on Independent Study
In response to lingering allegations that a sociology professor gave athletes good grades for independent studies that required little academic work, Auburn University's interim president, Edward R. Richardson, announced in August the professor's resignation as chairman of his department and outlined a new policy for independent-study classes at the university.
