Auburn, Accreditor Agree on Inquiry
Auburn University and its accreditor have agreed to allow a special investigator to look into certain controversial management decisions by the institution's Board of Trustees.
The investigator will look into such issues as whether the trustees had a hand in denying tenure to a professor, whether the board has an inappropriate level of control over the athletics program, and whether some business dealings between some trustees and the university created a conflict of
