Athletics Directors Seek More Influence in NCAA Governance
By WELCH SUGGSAn association of athletics directors at some of the nation's largest and most prominent colleges issued a statement last week expressing frustration with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the way it governs itself. Athletics administrators believe that they are disenfranchised by the current system, and that their expertise has been left out of top-level discussions on the future of college sports.
