Athletics Director Caught in 2002 Résumé Scandal Gets a Second Chance

Charles S. Harris, one of several athletics officials who lost their jobs in 2002 for having put false information on their résumés, is back in academe. Averett University announced last week that it had hired Mr. Harris as its next athletics director.

Mr. Harris previously served as athletics director at Arizona State University and at the University of Pennsylvania. He also was commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and chairman of the Division I Management
