Athletics Dept. at Georgia Tech Receives $50.5-Million Bequest
The athletics department at the Georgia Institute of Technology will receive $50.5-million from the estate of Lee Edwards Candler, the largest of a total of $140-million in bequests being made to several local non-profit enterprises.
Ms. Candler, who died in February, was the widow of C. Howard Candler, Jr., grandson of the founder of the Coca-Cola Company.
LaGrange College, in Georgia, also received $22.5-million from the estate, in a gift announced
