Athletes' Graduation Rates Are Highest Ever, NCAA Data Show

Athletes in the nation's biggest college-sports programs are graduating at the highest levels since the National Collegiate Athletic Association first began calculating their graduation rates seven years ago, according to data the association released on Tuesday.

The latest graduation-success-rate figures, as the NCAA refers to its measure, show that more than three-quarters, or 78 percent, of all players who entered a Division I college in the academic years from 1998 to 2001
